If you are ice cream fan, Ben & Jerry's allows you to play around and create your own flavor on their website. Another little example of how brands can connect to their fans and let them have some fun.

Being a Ben & Jerry fan myself, I sure kicked some free time playing around and creating my own flavor with good-old vanilla, some honeycomb bits, caramel swirl and macademia nuts and what-not. (bring out the real kid in you!!)

Best part is you get to name it like how Dave Matthews Band and Phish and Stephen Colbert got to do it for real.

Finally, Stephen Colbert gets his chance to create his own Ben & Jerry's flavor. He goes for vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and caramel.

Ben & Jerry's calls it "The sweet taste of liberty in your mouth." And we get our sweet share of Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream.

An alarm clock that runs away from you, and actually drags you out of bed. Fantastic!! I might need one at the rate I'm getting up in the morning these days.

football rug

Here's another simple yet sporty design for something as mundane as a rug. Throw in a soccer element and get the guys interested. I had spent a good chunk of last week at IKEA looking for stuff for our new apartment and I wish IKEA had carried this, I would have snatched it up without even giving it a second thought.

calendar construction

Here's a great little piece for some creative playing around. These module calendar pieces from the Japanese design/branding firm Good Morning Inc are just the kind of stuff that would make getting back to work after the Christmas break into the new year all the more exciting. Just getting this box and building the calendar to put on your desk for the new year would just be a great fun excercise for the mind that is trying to get over the holiday blues.

Have yet to find out where I can get it in Singapore. If anybody who reads this can point me to the right store, would appreciate it.

I actually stumbled on this calendar set on the Flickr stream of City of Sound. He has much better pictures of putting together the calendar.
